Certain considerations must be taken into account when it comes to the installation of an I.C.E system in one's car. For many it's just a matter of having some sound blaring from their system, while others, the hard-core audiophile, take it more seriously by taking into consideration their present base platform before even starting their audio project. Anyway, what is of importance is that the sole purpose of the audio system is to give maximum pleasure for the owner.

The platform is of the utmost importance when it comes to selecting the right audio equipment as the installer must select an audio system that is compatible with the interior dimension of the vehicle, the right sound tuning from the basic audio system, tuning for the right location and the right equipment for the job. This is to ensure the suitability of space and the ease for modification to the system map is the best for the chosen audio equipment, whether in designing a SQ or SPL system.

Many would agree that the most suitable platform is a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) as it has the best interior space for a really good sound system. However, in reality, it depends on the skill and knowledge of the installer when facing a customer who wants the best sound system available, even though the vehicle of choice is not considered totally suitable for the chosen sound system to work optimally.
