Team City – Northern Region Charity Drive We Care!!!
Organizing a charity drive by a motoring club is not an every day event that we usually come across.
Interestingly, the event does not end with just a visit to the handicapped center but instead a
‘tour de island’ was given to the occupants of the selected center. That’s what the Team City
(Northern Region) Charity Drive is all about – showing that THEY CARE!
As mentioned the event was organized by a group of caring members from the
Team City Northern Region namely, Kenneth, Stanh and a committee consisting of members of Team City.
The event started with a convoy of 14 cars to the SIMA Handicapped Center where a small
‘souvenir exchange’ ceremony was held followed by lunch at a nearby KFC outlet. Some might think that
this was a norm for a charity event but what if all participating cars was having additional
passengers – residents of SIMA Handicapped Center… that’s unique, right? According to our correspondent
for the northern region, Daniel, each car was allocated with 2 residents from the center and they were
given a tour around the island!
After lunch, the convoy continued with a visit to the Underwater World and the
Teluk Bahang dam. At the end of the event, a group photo session was held in capturing the
unforgettable moment for those who participated.
The event was seen as a huge success for the Team City Northern Region and
plans have been made for a similar charity drive soon in the near future. Great job guys!
