MSS Super Compact Championship 2007
The MSS Super Compact Championship 2007 is back, with increased racing competitiveness among the
drivers. K. Perajun, last year’s defending champion had to face fierce challenges from both Chan
Yoon Voon and Chew Koon Ming in the open turbocharged category below 1,000cc.
Chan Yoon Voon, a second year Super Compact racer, was within 0.380 second
behind K. Perajun who had to drive defensively to protect his lead. With a better powered car
under his control, Voon lost to the more experienced Perajun by 1.385 seconds in heat 1.
Heat 2 saw a more determined Chew Koon Ming and Chan Yoon Voon in trying to
overtake the defending champion Perajun. After fruitless attempts from Ming, Voon tried his
luck and managed to overtake Perajun on lap 4.After which the more experienced Perajun used
all the aces under his sleeves to turn the table on Voon by overtaking him and drove defensively
in order to protect his lead, though his blocking method was questionable as observed
by spectators.
