Nissan Fairlady 350Z
This Fairlady 350Z was discovered by our crew quite recently while at Vis Auto Labs. Although the 350Z was first introduced
in 2003 yet it can be regarded as being a ‘brand new car’ especially in the local modification scene. A new player indeed yet
it has been recognized as a highly potential machine worldwide!
Due to its natural potential, the owner of the 350Z featured
here has decided to do some ‘exploration’ on his newly bought 350Z. Therefore it comes as no surprise that his 350Z has gone
through some modifications aimed at pumping out more horses from the VQ35DE 3.5-liter 24-valve V6 engine. For your information,
this engine is known to be capable of pumping out 287 horsepower at 6,200 rpm in its standard form. Yup! That’s the same engine
that powers the Murano SUVs and the Infiniti G35.
Guess not many are aware that behind its six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission is a super-thick carbon-fiber-reinforced
plastic driveshaft leading to a limited-slip rear differential. The 350Z also uses more aluminum components in the suspension and features
strut tower braces spanning both the engine bay and the rear cargo area. Those strut tower bars make the suspension more secure and stiffen
the entire structure, though the rear one also limits cargo capacity… not that it really matters! There’s always the Infiniti G35 coupe,
which shares the same front-midship platform and regarded as the 2+2 version of the 350Z.
