Proton Gen.2
When it was first introduced, the Gen.2 models did not receive the kind of response expected from the performance
and modification enthusiasts. Many were seen as being skeptical of the new Malaysian-made CAMPRO engine. This was
among the factors that affect its popularity as a base for modification. Yeah, that was then but nowadays, there
are a lot of performance parts made specially for the Gen.2 in order to enhance the engine’s capability. Our very
own project cars, a rally Gen.2 from Proton Rally Team and Gen.2 track car from R3 are two such examples. Malaysia Boleh!
This time around, we decided to share with you guys some details about this featured Proton Gen.2 that had successfully
gone through extensive upgrading process. According to the owner, he never intended to do any serious mods onto his Gen.2
and was satisfied with the performance of the CAPMRO S4PH engine. Well, not until one day disaster struck… and his Gen.2
was stuck in 3-feet deep water! That caused all the electronic and electric system to shut down and the car ended being
towed to the workshop.
