Sepang Drag Battle 2009 - The Final Round


High expectations were what I had for the Round 5 of the Sepang Drag Battle, which was also the final round for the year 2009. With Round 4 being touted as the best for the year, it was only natural that this being the final round would and should be the best of the best. Alas, even with a great turn out of spectators and participants this was not to be as Mother Nature had unleashed its fury and the venue was ‘hit’ by a heavy downpour, which really spoilt the mood as the start time had to be delayed.

For safety purposes, cars that were fitted with slicks tyres were prevented from being on the track till it is dried out, and by that it was already late into the night. Despite this, the enthusiasm of the racers to collect a few more point from this round did manage to excite the spectators, some which stayed till the end of the event.

In conjunction with this final round, SIC had organized a party; ‘High Octane Party’ for those who fancy a drink while watching the race and at the same time grove the night away with some awesome music.
