Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII - Shock & Awe!
I remember reading an article on Operation Desert Storm where the Americans blazed through the Iraqi desert with their M1A1 Abrams main battle tank. The Abrams is a technological masterpiece – it has the best gun, the most advanced electronics and it is the first tank in the world equipped with a gas turbine engine.
The gas turbine engine fitted to the Abrams is one of the most powerful engines available for a tank but it guzzles fuel like there is no tomorrow. The GI jokingly describes the tank needs a moving gas station to support its hunger for fuel – which is not too far fetch as the tank is supported by a fleet of HEMMIT fuel trucks. The Americans were lucky that the Iraqi was unable to cut their supply line or we would see a very different scene in CNN.
This Evo VIII reminds me of the Abrams tank. It’s fast, powerful, loaded with electronics and loves visiting the gas station. This very fine machine is owned by Santhana or better known as Roy. It is modded to the max but instead of spending most its time in the garage, believe it or not, this car is driven on a daily basis – an average of 200km to be exact!
