Mazda RX7 FD3S – GReddy to Rumble!

The RX7 is probably one of the sexiest Japanese made sports cars in the world. Its sleek design with low roofline and a slender body reminds me of the F-16 fighter aircraft. Even the brand new RX8 in my opinion could not match the aggressive stance of its predecessor which still looks good even after all these years. Apart from its good looks; the RX7 is in its class of its own, as the only mass produced car powered by a rotary engine – an engine with the least moving parts.

    This featured navy blue RX7 is by far, one of the best examples of what a dude with loads of moolah could do to a RX7. The 13B-REW wankel engine is modded to the max by RE Amemiya – the expert on rotary engine modification from Japan. This race prepped engine is then mated to a brand new Trust TD06 turbine and a vertical mount intercooler also from RE Amemiya. Trust products were also used for the external wastegate and blow-off valve, while GReddy air filters are used to block all impurities from entering the huge turbocharger.

    Rotary engines are infamous for its thirst for fuel, and this heavily modded engine needs fuel like an English rugby player needs beer to quench his thirst after a big game. To satisfy this, the owner had installed a SARD 280lph fuel pump and an adjustable fuel regulator, which ensure a constant flow of fuel to the combustion chamber.
